Progressive Human Resources role supporting federal personnel actions, file review, and pay processing.
Join our team as a Human Resources Specialist, supporting personnel operations across various GS levels. This progressive role moves from assisting with daily personnel actions to independently processing complex HR requests, ensuring compliance with federal policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize personnel systems to process and assist with a variety of HR actions, including appointments, reassignments, and separations.
- Review and screen employee files to evaluate various statuses, such as veteran preference.
- Assist with and process different pay setting actions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to federal guidelines.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of human resources concepts, policies, and federal laws to daily tasks.
Qualifications:
- GS-9: Requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-7, involving the use of personnel systems to assist with action processing.
- GS-11: Requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-9, assisting with daily HR actions, file screening, and pay actions.
- GS-12: Requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11, accurately processing HR requests, reviewing files, and managing pay setting.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal status applicants must meet specific time-in-grade requirements (e.g., 52 weeks at GS-7 for GS-9).
- Competencies: Demonstrated proficiency in Communication, Human Resources Concepts, Policies and Law, and Staffing and Recruiting. Relevant experience should be detailed in your resume.
