Job Description

Seeking HR Classification Specialists to manage federal position classifications and advise leaders on HR policy development.
This role involves applying federal human resources principles to position classification and management. As an HR Classification Specialist, you will ensure accurate position classifications, advise managers, and contribute to policy development within a dynamic federal environment. **Key Responsibilities & Progression:** * **GS-11:** Apply understanding of factor-based classification systems and utilize automated personnel systems (e.g., DCPDS). * **GS-12:** Provide independent position management and classification support, advising managers on processes, references, and automated HR tools. * **GS-13:** Determine complex position classifications for high-visibility roles, explain decisions to senior leaders, and apply analytical techniques to resolve classification issues. **Qualifications:** * **Time-in-Grade (Federal Applicants Only):** Must have served 52 weeks at the next lower GS level (e.g., GS-09 for GS-11, GS-11 for GS-12, GS-12 for GS-13). * **Specialized Experience:** One year of experience at the next lower grade level, applying classification rules, advising stakeholders, and resolving complex HR classification issues, commensurate with the target GS level. * **Quality of Experience:** Demonstrated background, recency of experience, education, and training relevant to HR classification. **Required Competencies:** * Communication * Human Resource Concepts, Policies, and Laws * Policy Development
