Job Description

Seeking skilled HR Classification Specialists to manage federal position classification, advise leaders, and resolve complex organizational issues.
This position is for an experienced Human Resources Specialist (Classification) at the GS-11, GS-12, or GS-13 level. You will apply federal classification standards, provide expert advice, and resolve complex position management challenges. **Key Responsibilities & Requirements by Level:** * **GS-11 Level:** * **Experience:** At least one year equivalent to GS-09, demonstrating understanding and application of factor-based classification rules, and experience with automated personnel systems (e.g., DCPDS). * **Federal Applicants:** Must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher. * **GS-12 Level:** * **Experience:** At least one year equivalent to GS-11, providing position management and classification support with minimal oversight. Advising managers on classification processes, references, and HR tools. * **Federal Applicants:** Must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher. * **GS-13 Level:** * **Experience:** At least one year equivalent to GS-12, focused on determining classifications for critical, high-visibility positions. Explaining standards and decisions to senior leaders (GS-15/SES equivalent), and using analytical methods to resolve issues, present findings, and create action plans. * **Federal Applicants:** Must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher. **General Requirements:** * All experience and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date. * Demonstrate strong competencies in: Communication, Human Resource Concepts, Policies and Laws, and Policy Development. * Clearly describe how your experience meets these competencies within your resume.
