Summary
Seeking an experienced Multimedia Designer with TS/SCI clearance and 508 compliance expertise to create visual content for government clients.
OPTiMO, a consulting firm specializing in enterprise-level application development and digital design, seeks an experienced, motivated Multimedia Designer. This full-time, on-site role in the Washington DC Metro area is pivotal for evolving and creating innovative products for our public and private sector partners.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Evolve and iterate on current and upcoming products in collaboration with design, development, and staff teams.
- Creatively translate abstract concepts into effective visual forms across various media.
- Design, edit, and produce high-quality video, audio, and graphic materials using state-of-the-art tools.
- Solve visual communication problems by identifying issues, analyzing information, and generating solutions.
- Review and proofread presentations and designs for accuracy, consistency, and high quality.
- Handle US classified documents with strict adherence to protocols.
- Ensure all visual deliverables adhere to Section 508 accessibility standards for electronic documents, PDFs, and multimedia.
- Utilize tools like Adobe Acrobat Pro, PAC 2024, Colour Contrast Analyzer, and Microsoft Office accessibility features for document remediation and testing.
- Apply DHS Trusted Tester Methodology for multimedia and document content.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- U.S. Citizen.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Art Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field; or ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of recent experience in graphic design and multimedia environments.
- At least one (1) year of experience handling US classified documents.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Mac OS and Windows operating systems.
- Strong understanding of production and rendering methods (drawing, offset printing, photography, time-based/interactive media).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working for the federal government or capability for sophisticated design and branding representative of a federal agency.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply Section 508 accessibility standards.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and methods; ability to independently validate deliverables for accessibility.
- DHS Trusted Tester Certification.
- Experience working with Agile/SCRUM development teams.
- Familiarity with US Web Design System, 18F Design Methods, IOS, and Android design standards.
- A portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions for mobile apps and responsive websites.
- Expert knowledge of layout design, video editing, UI design, usability principles, video animation, color theory, and print design.
- Ability to create visually appealing and brand-aligned decks in Microsoft PowerPoint.
