Summary
Experienced Engineer to manage and coordinate complex engineering projects, ensuring design, budget, and regulatory compliance.
We are seeking a skilled Engineer to manage complex engineering projects, from initial design and cost estimation through coordination and compliance, at the GS-13 level. This role requires a strong engineering background and significant project oversight experience.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop preliminary designs and comprehensive cost estimates for construction, interest, maintenance, and operation.
- Perform analytical and evaluative work related to project schedules, plans, budgets, and execution phase documentation.
- Coordinate the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, and environmental considerations for engineering projects of considerable scope and complexity.
- Oversee various engineering or architectural projects, initiatives, contracts, and activities.
- Review work to ensure strict compliance with regulations and established specifications.
- *Qualifications:**
Applicants must meet **one** of the following basic engineering requirements:
- **Engineering Degree:** A Bachelor's degree in engineering from a school with at least one ABET-accredited program.
- **Combination of Education and Experience:** College-level education, training, and/or technical experience demonstrating a thorough knowledge of physical/mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a good theoretical/practical understanding of engineering sciences and their applications. This must be demonstrated by one of the following:

- **Background Investigation:** U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requires a thorough background investigation prior to employment.
- **Residency Requirement:** Must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for U.S. government-related work/dependents, study abroad, or contractor roles.
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees must serve a one-year probationary period.
