Summary
Seeking a retired federal annuitant with bar membership to provide expert legal analysis and client service.
We are seeking highly qualified, retired federal annuitants to provide expert legal analysis and stellar client services. This is a term appointment offering a unique opportunity for eligible annuitants to receive both full annuity and full federal salary.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Produce efficient, high-quality legal analyses for complex and novel issues.
- Exercise sound legal judgment and effectively prioritize competing assignments.
- Provide stellar client services to program offices, including law enforcement, policymakers, and senior leadership.
- Tailor communications effectively for diverse audiences.
- Work independently, collaboratively within a team, and across work units.
- Demonstrate initiative, reliability, decisiveness, and professionalism.
- *Required Qualifications & Skills:**
- Active member in good standing of the Bar of a U.S. state, territory, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
- Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Superior written and oral advocacy skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to integrity and client service.
- *Eligibility & Appointment Details:**
- **Retired Federal Annuitants Only:** Must be retired on or before the announcement's opening date.
- This position is specifically for CSRS and FERS annuitants, excluding those with early voluntary and buyout retirements.
- May include a dual compensation salary offset waiver, allowing for full annuity and full federal salary.
- Term appointment (non-status, excepted service) not to exceed 07/31/2028, with potential for extension.
- Eligible for annual/sick leave (for full-time schedules), full-time work, and overtime.
- Not eligible for additional retirement coverage (other than Social Security) or TSP contributions.
- All qualification and eligibility requirements must be met by 12/31/2025.
