Summary
Seeking a legal professional with an ABA-accredited JD and active bar membership to join U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Join U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a federal law enforcement agency, as a legal professional.
- *Qualifications:**
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing of the Bar in any U.S. state, territory, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
- Official law school transcripts and proof of bar membership are required.
- Both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work (e.g., National Service programs, community organizations), will be considered.
- *Application Requirements:**
- All qualification requirements, including education, must be met and are subject to verification by September 26, 2025.
- Disclosure is required if you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political appointee (e.g., Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES, Presidential Appointee) in the Executive Branch.
- *Background Investigation:**
- Applicants must pass a thorough background investigation, which includes inquiries into felony criminal convictions or current charges.
- Questions will be asked regarding the use of illegal drugs and non-prescribed controlled substances (including experimentation, possession, sale, manufacturing, etc.).
- *Residency Requirement:**
- Unless currently employed by CBP, applicants must have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years.
