Summary

Lead food safety compliance, investigations, and guidance for meat, poultry, and egg products, ensuring regulatory adherence.

We are seeking a highly experienced Food Safety Specialist to provide authoritative guidance and manage critical compliance programs. This role involves ensuring the safety and quality of meat, poultry, and egg products through expert advice, investigations, and emergency response.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • Provide expert guidance and advice on complex food inspection regulations, policies, and procedures to industry personnel.
  • Apply and enforce laws and regulations within compliance programs for meat, poultry, or egg products.
  • Conduct thorough investigations related to critical food safety issues.
  • Manage and respond to food product recalls and safety emergencies.
  • *Requirements:**
  • Minimum one year of specialized experience (equivalent to a GS-12 level or similar professional experience) demonstrating:
* Ability to provide authoritative guidance on complex food inspection matters. * Application of laws and regulations for compliance programs (meat, poultry, or egg products). * Experience conducting investigations into food safety issues. * Experience with food recalls and/or food safety emergencies.
  • All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be considered.
