Manage complex environmental projects for CBP, overseeing scope, budget, compliance, and stakeholder coordination as a GS-13 specialist.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking an Environmental Project Manager/Specialist (GS-13) to oversee complex environmental projects. This role involves comprehensive project lifecycle management, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Direct contractor field surveys, technical studies, and ensure quality deliverables.
- Assess project impacts, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve noncompliance.
- Advise senior leadership on regulatory impacts and prepare defensible documentation.
- Apply project management practices (planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management) to concurrent environmental projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Coordinate extensively with internal and external stakeholders.
- *Requirements:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, demonstrating proficiency in the responsibilities listed above.
- **Federal Service:** Meet Time in Grade requirements (if applicable) by 11/28/2025.
- **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. (Exceptions for U.S. government service abroad may apply).
- **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation is required by CBP, a federal law enforcement agency.
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
