Summary
Lead advanced engineering projects for detection, tracking, and security systems as a GS-14 Engineer.
This position seeks a highly qualified Engineer (GS-14) to lead and innovate within critical detection, tracking, surveillance, and security systems.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead complex engineering projects and technology programs.
- Conduct research, development, and evaluation of advanced technologies.
- Oversee rigorous testing and evaluation procedures for electronic systems, ensuring compliance.
- Focus areas include detection, tracking, surveillance, and security systems.
- *Qualifications (GS-14):**
To qualify for this position (starting salary $142,488), you must meet Basic Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- *1. Basic Engineering Requirements (One of the following):**
- **Education:** A professional engineering bachelor's or higher degree from an ABET-accredited program, or equivalent coursework demonstrating core engineering sciences.
- **Licensure:** Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE).
- **Examination:** Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or another professional registration test.
- **Coursework:** At least 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, fully acceptable towards an engineering degree.
- **Related Degree + Experience:** A bachelor's in a relevant scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, computer science) plus one year of professional engineering experience under supervision.
- *2. Minimum Qualifications (Specialized Experience - GS-14):**
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. This experience must include leading engineering projects, researching/developing advanced technologies, and overseeing testing/evaluation for detection, tracking, surveillance, and security systems.
- *Additional Federal Employee Information:**
- **Time-in-Grade:** Current or former federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the GS-13 level for GS-14).
- **Documentation:** Provide SF-50s as proof of status and eligibility.
- *Important:**
- All qualifications must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
- Relevant experience includes both paid and unpaid/volunteer work.
