Job Description

Summary

Lead and manage comprehensive educational and training programs, requiring specialized experience in program development, policy, and evaluation.

We are seeking experienced Education Professionals to manage, evaluate, and develop comprehensive educational and training programs.

  • *About the Role:**
This role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and assessment of education, recreation, and vocational training initiatives, often within a correctional environment. You will contribute to policy development and serve as a subject matter expert.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **GS-14 Level:**
* Evaluate and plan educational programs, identifying areas for improvement. * Formulate policies to prevent systematic program failures. * Oversee the development or implementation of educational models, particularly in correctional settings. * Resolve labor-management relations issues related to education and training programs. * Provide expert guidance and recommendations through written reports and presentations to management.
  • **GS-15 Level (in addition to GS-14 responsibilities):**
* Manage and provide leadership for all education and related programs, including computer-assisted, vocational, secondary (GED), post-secondary, continuing education, apprenticeship, and staff training. * Develop advanced instructional materials and aids for staff training. * Lead or assist in developing nationwide education policies and designing/operating recreation/wellness programs. * Advise audit teams reviewing and evaluating inmate education, recreation, and training programs.

  • *Qualifications:**
  • **Required Education:** A degree in education or a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • **Required Experience:** At least one year of specialized experience at a level equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (e.g., GS-13 for GS-14 applicants, GS-14 for GS-15 applicants). This experience must demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Completion of a Master's degree from an accredited program in Education or Adult Education.
