Customs And Border Protection Officer

Join us as a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) and play a vital role in national security. You will perform critical inspections, enforce laws, and protect our borders.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Conduct physical inspections of individuals, documents, and goods to prevent criminal activity, fraud, and illegal operations.
• Utilize observational techniques and evaluate facts to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
• Make informed determinations that may lead to arrests, property seizure, fines, or penalties based on findings.
• Perform inspection work at borders, seaports, airports, or other ports of entry.
• *Qualifications & Requirements:**
• **Entry-Level (GS-5):**

* Minimum 3 years of general experience (1 year at GS-4 equivalent) requiring public interaction and applying facts; or * A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

• **Intermediate (GS-7):**

* Minimum 1 year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-6) performing inspections, applying regulations, and making enforcement decisions; or * A Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (GPA 3.0+ or class standing); or * Successful completion of one full year of graduate-level education.

• **Advanced (GS-9):**

* Previous or current law enforcement or military law enforcement experience.

• **General Requirements:**

* Ability to undergo and successfully pass a Tier 5 national security background investigation. * Adherence to uniform and grooming standards while on duty. * National Service, volunteer, and CBP Explorer experience may count towards qualifications. * Applicants must meet all qualifications by the closing date of the announcement.
