Summary
Seeking experienced GS-13 Criminal Investigators to lead complex federal investigations, with special dual compensation for annuitant rehires.
Join our team as a Criminal Investigator (Special Agent) at the GS-13 level, with a unique opportunity for rehires and annuitants.
This role involves leading complex federal criminal investigations, offering comprehensive benefits for eligible annuitants under a dual compensation waiver.
- *Special Opportunity for Annuitants (Rehires):**
If reemployed with a salary offset (dual compensation) waiver, you are eligible for:
- Full annuity and full Federal salary.
- Annual and sick leave (for full-time schedules).
- Full-time work schedules, with eligibility for overtime (counted towards maximum hour limitations).
- Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) – an additional 25% of base salary plus locality pay.
- *Important Notes for Annuitants:**
- This is a non-status, term appointment (not-to-exceed 1 year, potentially extendable).
- You are NOT eligible for additional retirement coverage (other than Social Security) or TSP contributions.
- Only one appointment per job series is permitted for reemployed annuitants.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
As a Criminal Investigator, you will:
- Conduct a broad range of highly difficult and responsible investigations, specializing in areas such as narcotics, money laundering, financial crimes, human trafficking, fraud, international trade, network intrusion response, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, counterproliferation, or general criminal investigations.
- Review files and perform complex queries using federal, state, and local law enforcement-related databases, including sensitive and classified systems.
- Maintain, develop, and enhance inter-agency partnerships with governmental and private sector entities.
- Plan and implement strategies for collecting and analyzing information to support long-term criminal investigations.
- Conduct interviews and interrogations using advanced techniques with a variety of individuals (e.g., suspects, witnesses, sources, victims).
- Prepare expert reports in support of general criminal actions.
- Lead immigration-related law enforcement actions or investigations (e.g., worksite cases, visa overstays, immigration fraud investigations).
