Correctional Treatment Specialist (Community Treatment Oversight Specialist)

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team, focusing on counseling and program support within a criminal justice setting.

• *Minimum Qualifications:**
• **Education:**

* Bachelor's degree including at least 24 semester hours in behavioral or social sciences (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Counseling). * or A combination of education (24+ semester hours in behavioral/social sciences) and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

• **Qualifying Experience (for basic requirement):**

* Casework in a correctional or criminal justice setting. * Counseling requiring diagnostic or treatment planning skills. * Work treating individuals in need of social rehabilitation.

• *Specialized Experience (in addition to above):**
• One year of experience (equivalent to the next lower federal grade level) that demonstrates proficiency in:

* Individual and group counseling, particularly with substance abuse offenders. * Evaluating clinical documents to recommend treatment methods. * Auditing techniques, including assessing controls, risks, and program independence. * Designing and conducting staff training on topics like counseling, treatment planning, pharmacology, and drug treatment trends. * Observing counseling sessions and providing recommendations on boundaries and assessments.

• *Selective Factors (APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS ONE):**
• 18 graduate semester hours in substance use, mental health, and/or sex offender treatment.

* or

• 24 months of professional experience in counseling substance users, treating major mental illnesses, and/or sex offender treatment.
