Job Description
Summary
Seeking experienced correctional professionals to lead administrative programs focusing on women and special inmate populations, requiring supervisory and program evaluation expertise.
Join our team in a key administrative role overseeing correctional programs for women and special inmate populations (e.g., aging, parents, pregnant, disabilities, veterans). This position requires substantial involvement with correctional programs and strong supervisory capabilities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee correctional program operations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Manage and train subordinates, coordinate activities, and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Address issues related to inmate custody, treatment, training, and release.
- Maintain high standards for work objectives within a correctional environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with inmates and associates in a correctional environment.
- Proven experience successfully performing supervisory or administrative duties, including directing or assisting in the direction of an entire correctional program or a major phase.
- Thorough knowledge of correctional techniques and institutional policies.
- Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience for this role.
Specialized Experience Examples:
For GS-13:
- Investigating administrative remedy appeals concerning Women and Special Populations policies.
- Implementing and/or evaluating evidence-based programs for special populations based on outcome data.
- Providing training to Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and non-BOP personnel on policies related to female offenders and special populations.
- Gathering data for statistical analysis and evaluating program impact on policies and procedures for these populations.
For GS-14:
- Developing and delivering regional or national training/research focused on the needs of women or special inmate populations.
- Developing and evaluating evidence-based programs and best practices for these populations.
- Engaging external stakeholder leadership on policies and responsiveness to the needs of incarcerated women or special populations.
- Writing comprehensive reports, policies, training guides, evaluations, and executive-level papers for review by leadership.
