Summary

Seeking experienced GS-13 Contract Specialist for complex acquisitions, requiring relevant degree, 4+ years experience, and FAC-C Professional.

Job Title: Contract Specialist (GS-13)

Position Overview:

Seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to manage complex federal acquisitions, provide expert guidance, and ensure compliance with all contracting laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage acquisitions using formal advertising and negotiated methods.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and advise project/program offices on effective implementation.
  • Ensure timely execution of contracting strategies.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of contracting laws, procurement principles, and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience:
* Minimum of 4 years in contracting or related positions. * At least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, demonstrating successful performance in a similar role.
  • Education:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. * Must include or be supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in one or a combination of: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
  • Certification:
* Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Professional is required. * DoD Contracting Professional Certification is accepted as equivalent. * New hires without FAC-C (Professional) must achieve certification. * Current federal employees with legacy FAC-C Levels I, II, or III are automatically considered FAC-C Professional.
  • Skills:
* Expertise in acquisition processes and methods. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and advisory capabilities. * Comprehensive understanding of federal contracting laws and regulations.
