Summary

Lead federal acquisition programs as a GS-14 Contract Specialist, developing strategies and resolving complex contractual issues.

Join our team as a highly experienced Contract Specialist (GS-14) to manage complex federal acquisition programs. This role demands expertise in contractual strategy, negotiation, and issue resolution.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Serve as a primary contract specialist for significant systems and programs, encompassing negotiation, cost/price analysis, and administration.
  • Plan, develop, and establish comprehensive contractual strategies for assigned acquisition programs.
  • Act as a trusted contracting advisor and subject matter expert to program officials and management.
  • Resolve intricate contractual issues, claims, and termination settlements in accordance with established procedures.
  • *Core Requirements:**
  • **Experience:**
* Minimum of four years in contracting or related positions. * At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level, demonstrating proficiency in contract negotiation, cost analysis, acquisition strategy, and complex issue resolution.
  • **Education:**
* A 4-year bachelor's degree, including or supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in fields such as accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
  • **Alternatively (for existing federal employees):**
* Completion of all mandatory training for GS-13 or higher level contracting positions, plus required experience.

  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation, including inquiries into criminal history and drug use, is mandatory.
  • **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years (exceptions may apply for those working for the U.S. government or military dependents).
  • **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
  • **Documentation:** All qualifications, including education and experience, must be supported by documentation and are subject to verification.
