Summary
Experienced legal executive to lead federal legal operations, provide expert counsel, and manage a substantial legal office.
Seeking an accomplished legal executive to lead and manage a substantial federal legal office, providing expert counsel on complex governmental law and policy. This role requires a commitment to upholding the rule of law and driving efficiency.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- **Legal Strategy & Counsel:** Provide comprehensive legal advice and interpretation on federal laws, including constitutional law (First, Fourth, Fifth Amendments), personnel and employment law, EEO and civil rights, fiscal law, ethics, procurement, Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act, congressional compliance, and legislative drafting.
- **Legal Office Management:** Direct, plan, and supervise a significant legal office, managing budget and resources, evaluating staff performance, and implementing office and agency objectives.
- **High-Impact Legal Oversight:** Advise on matters of substantial impact, sensitivity, and complexity, communicating clearly and effectively within a matrixed organization.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Executive-Level Legal Expertise:** Extensive experience interpreting federal laws and providing legal advice in diverse areas, including constitutional law, employment, civil rights, fiscal, ethics, procurement, FOIA/Privacy, and legislative drafting.
- **Legal Office Leadership:** Proven executive-level experience managing and overseeing a substantial legal office within a federal agency, law firm, or similar organization, including staff development and resource management.
- **Strategic Advisory Skills:** Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice on highly sensitive and complex legal matters, communicate effectively, and thrive in a matrixed organizational structure.

- Over 10 years of combined general legal and management experience.
