Summary
Oversee U.S. Customs and Border Protection programs, utilizing extensive law enforcement experience in inspections, investigations, and intelligence analysis.
This position is for a Customs and Border Protection Officer (Program Manager) Temporary Promotion role within a federal law enforcement agency.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Apply extensive knowledge of program-related legislation, regulations, and investigative techniques.
- Oversee the collection and analysis of intelligence from various sources.
- Analyze manifests, permits, and documents to determine merchandise or cargo admissibility.
- Develop, plan, and participate in tactical operations, including intensive boardings.
- Manage record checks and utilize tactical intelligence to identify high-risk travelers.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** Possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, performing duties as outlined above. Volunteer experience counts.
- **Retirement Coverage (Secondary CBPO SRC):** This is a secondary position requiring prior permanent service in a primary Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) position (e.g., Customs Inspector, Immigration Inspector, Canine Enforcement Officer, or CBP Officer). Must meet specific service conditions and time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at next lower grade for federal employees).
