Summary
Protect U.S. borders as a GS-13 Customs and Border Protection Officer, performing risk assessment, intelligence analysis, and document review.
Join U.S. Customs and Border Protection as a GS-13 Officer, playing a critical role in national security. This position involves advanced inspection, investigation, and risk assessment at U.S. borders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform risk assessments for travelers and shipments utilizing behavioral, cultural, and analytical skills.
- Gather and analyze information from intelligence reports and various databases.
- Review and analyze manifests, permits, certificates, entries, invoices, and associated documents to determine merchandise or cargo admissibility.
- Apply extensive knowledge of program legislation, regulations, and investigative techniques.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, demonstrating expertise in border security risk assessment, intelligence analysis, and regulatory application.
- Federal Service: Current federal employees must meet Time-in-Grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade) by 09/18/2025.
- Law Enforcement Prerequisite: Mandatory prior experience in a primary/rigorous law enforcement or firefighting position, or equivalent non-federal experience.

- Other: May be subject to a probationary period and medical/physical standards.
