Join U.S. Customs and Border Protection as a GS-13 Officer, ensuring national security and compliance at the border through critical law enforcement duties.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Review and analyze manifests, permits, and documents to determine merchandise and cargo admissibility.
• Develop, plan, and participate in tactical enforcement operations.
• Interact with carriers, agencies, and foreign entities regarding admissibility and compliance.
• Conduct visual and physical inspections of cargo, baggage, conveyances, and individuals.
• *Requirements & Qualifications:**
• *Experience:**
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, performing duties similar to those listed above.
• *Additional Requirements:**
• **Federal Service:** This is a secondary position requiring prior primary Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) or Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) service, with at least three years in a primary role and no significant break in service.
• **Time-in-Grade:** Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 level by October 27, 2025.
• **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation is mandatory.
• **Polygraph Examination:** Required for applicants not currently in a CBP law enforcement position (waivers/reciprocity possible).
• **Medical & Physical Standards:** Must pass a comprehensive medical screening and a pre-employment physical fitness test.
• **Probationary Period:** May be required.
• **Political Appointee Disclosure:** Required for current or former political appointees.
