• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Analyze manifests, permits, and associated documents to determine merchandise and cargo admissibility.
• Plan and participate in tactical operations to enforce border security.

• Conduct visual and physical inspections of cargo, baggage, conveyances, and individuals.
• *Required Qualifications & Experience:**
• **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 federal level, performing duties similar to those listed above. All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, is credited.
• **Time-in-Grade (Current Federal Employees):** Must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 level (or equivalent) by 11/10/2025.
• **Retirement Eligibility (Secondary Position):** This position is subject to special retirement provisions. Eligibility requires prior permanent service in a primary CBPO role (e.g., Customs Inspector, Immigration Inspector, Canine Enforcement Officer, or CBP Officer) without a significant break in service.
• **U.S. Citizenship:** Required.
• *Pre-Employment Requirements:**
• **Background Investigation:** A thorough background investigation is mandatory to ensure alignment with CBP's core values of vigilance, service, and integrity. This includes inquiries into criminal history and drug use.
