Lead national defense/homeland security business development, managing proposals and ensuring compliance, requiring 5+ years defense industry experience.
## Business Development Manager, Senior (National)
- *Location:** Remote | **Travel:** Up to 35% (Domestic & International) | **Job Type:** Full-Time
### Key Responsibilities:
- **Lead Proposal Efforts:** Drive end-to-end proposal development, guiding matrixed teams to ensure compliance, quality, and competitiveness from planning through submission.
- **Support Strategic Business Development:** Identify and validate new opportunities by leveraging emerging trends, customer needs, and internal capabilities.
- **Ensure Regulatory & Proposal Compliance:** Collaborate internally to ensure all offerings adhere to U.S. government regulatory and contracting requirements.
- **Partner Across Teams:** Work closely with engineering, finance, capture, and marketing to develop and submit compelling proposals and presentation materials.
- *Education & Experience:**
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of proposal development and general Business Development experience.
- 5+ years in the defense or national security industry.
- Technical background combined with BD experience is a strong plus.
- *Demonstrated Skills:**
- Proven success leading competitive proposals ranging from $100K to multi-million dollar programs (R&D, procurement, programs of record).
- Strong grasp of U.S. government acquisition and proposal requirements.
- Familiarity with tracking budgets and timelines using business analysis techniques.
- Ability to effectively collaborate across functional teams without formal authority.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including presentations.
- Self-starter able to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience supporting DHS, law enforcement, or DoD security forces.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and open source data tools.
- Prior experience contributing to or supporting growth strategy development.
