Summary
GS-13 Budget Analyst needed to analyze, formulate, and execute federal budget plans and policies.
## GS-13 Budget Analyst

- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Review, analyze, consolidate, and revise budget estimates, justification statements, and execution plans from agency components.
- Interpret and apply complex legislative, policy, and regulatory decisions to develop budgetary plans and guidance.
- Utilize principles of budget development, formulation, and execution to ensure financial compliance and funding limits.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and comparison of budgets and programs.
- *Requirements:**
- **Experience:** You must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. This experience should include duties similar to those listed above. Your resume must clearly detail how you meet this requirement.
- **Federal Service:** Must meet all qualification and Time in Grade requirements by 08/28/2025. This includes serving 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent if you are a current federal employee.
- **Background Investigation:** As a federal law enforcement agency, CBP requires all applicants to successfully complete a thorough background investigation, including inquiries into criminal history and controlled substance use.
- **Residency:** Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for U.S. government service (military/civilian), accompanying dependents, study abroad, or U.S. government contractor/volunteer work.
- **Political Appointee Disclosure:** Current or former political appointees must disclose this information to Human Resources.
- **Probationary Period:** New federal government employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Qualifying Experience:** Both paid and unpaid experience (e.g., volunteer work, national service) that builds relevant competencies, knowledge, and skills will be credited.
