Summary

CBP seeks Budget Analysts (GS-12/13) for federal budget formulation, analysis, and legislative coordination.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking skilled Budget Analysts at the GS-12 and GS-13 levels to support critical budget formulation and execution activities.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • Assist with preparing, reviewing, analyzing, and consolidating budget justifications.
  • Coordinate budget data and information requests with agency components, DHS, OMB, and Congress.
  • Enter budget formulation data into various systems.
  • Develop and assist with briefing materials for OMB and Congress.
  • Analyze, interpret, and apply complex legislative, policy, and regulatory decisions to budgetary data (GS-13).
  • Independently develop briefing materials and responses to information requests (GS-13).
  • *Qualifications:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS grade level, performing duties related to budget formulation, analysis, justification, and coordination.
  • **Federal Requirements:**
* Meet Time in Grade requirements by 10/10/2025 (current federal employees). * New federal employees must serve a one-year probationary period.
  • **CBP Specific Requirements:**
* Ability to pass a thorough background investigation. * Meet residency requirements: physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years (waiver conditions may apply).
