Job Description

Summary

Analyze, prepare, and advise on complex financial and budgetary matters for a federal law enforcement agency.

This role involves financial and budgetary analysis, reporting, and advisory services within a federal law enforcement agency.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • **GS-12 Level:**
* Prepare official quarterly and annual financial reports. * Advise program managers, law enforcement, and budget staff on budgetary actions for procurement needs. * Monitor and report trends regarding the obligation of funds to management. * Review, analyze, consolidate, and revise budget estimates.
  • **GS-13 Level (Advanced Duties):**
* Analyze complex financial and budgetary relationships to develop strategic recommendations. * Assist managers in developing and completing essential budgetary and financial documentation. * Contribute to the development of internal policies and procedures for budgetary and related divisional activities.

  • *Qualifications:**
  • **Experience:**
* **GS-12:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, including preparing financial reports, advising on budget needs, monitoring fund obligations, and reviewing budget estimates. * **GS-13:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, including analyzing financial/budgetary relationships, developing recommendations, assisting with documentation, and developing policies. * *Note: Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, is credited.* Your resume must explicitly detail how you meet these requirements.
  • **Education:** No education substitution for experience at these grade levels.
  • **Federal Applicants:** Must meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements.
  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • **Background Investigation:** Undergo a thorough background investigation by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a federal law enforcement agency. This includes inquiries into felony convictions and illegal drug use.
  • **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years (exceptions may apply for those serving the U.S. government abroad).
  • **Probationary Period:** New federal employees serve a one-year probationary period.
  • **CTAP/ICTAP Eligibility:** If applicable, must be rated at a minimum score of 85.
