Lead Border Patrol operations, manage programs, and enforce laws, requiring GS-14 law enforcement experience, Spanish proficiency, and rigorous screening.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled law enforcement professional to provide critical leadership and oversight for Border Patrol operations. This is a GS-14 level position requiring a strong background in law enforcement management and specific operational expertise.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and administrative direction for Border Patrol functions within an assigned area.
- Supervise, manage, and direct operational programs and support functions.
- Lead local policy and program initiatives related to Border Patrol operations.
- Execute law enforcement duties, including arrests and judicious use of firearms.
- Effectively manage interactions with individuals and groups in law enforcement matters.
- Conduct rapid information analysis to make prompt, sound law enforcement decisions.
- Develop and maintain a network of informants.
Required Qualifications:
- **Experience:**
- **Grade Level:** Must qualify for GS-14.
- **Language:** Proficient in spoken and written Spanish.
- **Firearms:** Must meet all initial and ongoing federal firearms qualifications. Applicants with specific disqualifying legal histories (e.g., felony convictions, outstanding warrants, unlawful drug use, certain mental health adjudications, illegal U.S. residency, renounced U.S. citizenship, court-ordered restraining orders against intimate partners/children, or misdemeanor domestic violence convictions) are ineligible.
- **Medical:** Successful completion of a medical screening is required.

- **Retirement Coverage (Secondary Law Enforcement Officer):**
- **Federal Employees:** Current federal employees must meet Time in Grade requirements (52 weeks at GS-13 or equivalent) by 09/24/2025.
