### Border Patrol Operations Director (GS-14)
Join a federal law enforcement agency to provide technical and administrative leadership for Border Patrol operations within an assigned area. This role involves managing operational programs, directing local policy initiatives, and developing new operational policies.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide technical and administrative oversight of all Border Patrol functions.
- Supervise, manage, and direct operational programs and support functions.
- Direct local policy and program initiatives.
- Develop and manage operational policies and programs related to Border Patrol operations.
- *Requirements & Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, performing duties such as supervising/managing Border Patrol operations or developing related policies.
- **Law Enforcement Expertise:** Demonstrated ability to:
- **Mandatory Prerequisite for Administrative LEO Retirement:** Prior experience in a primary/rigorous law enforcement or firefighting position (or equivalent experience outside of the Federal government) is required. (Exempt if currently in a permanent Secondary LEO Retirement covered position).
- **Language:** Must be proficient in Spanish (speaking and reading).
- **Firearms:** Meet initial and ongoing qualifications for firearm use. Ineligible if convicted of a felony, subject to restraining orders, convicted of domestic violence misdemeanors, or other specified disqualifications under the Gun Control Act.
- **Medical:** Successfully complete a comprehensive medical screening.
- **Background Investigation:** Undergo a thorough background investigation. This includes inquiries into felony convictions, drug use (illegal and non-prescribed controlled substances).
- **Polygraph Examination:** Required for non-current CBP law enforcement employees. (Polygraph reciprocity or waiver for certain veterans may be available).
- **Time in Grade:** Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade (GS-13 equivalent) by September 26, 2025.
- **Volunteer Experience:** Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, is credited towards qualifications.
