Job Description
Summary
Conduct air mobile apprehensions and on-scene law enforcement, documenting actions for federal legal cases.
This position requires a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, qualifying for the GS-12 grade. Your resume must clearly detail this experience.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Serve as a member of an air mobile apprehension team with law enforcement officials.
- Initiate and control on-scene law enforcement activities, including arrests and seizures.
- Prepare concise, in-depth narrative reports to support civil and criminal cases.
- *Qualifications & Requirements:**
- **Experience:** All qualifying experience, including paid and unpaid/volunteer work, is considered.
- **Federal Employees:** Must meet all Time-in-Grade requirements (e.g., 52 weeks at the next lower grade).
- **Background Investigation:** Mandatory thorough background investigation for this federal law enforcement role, covering criminal history and drug use.
- **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for U.S. government-related foreign service (military, federal civilian, dependents, contractors, study abroad).
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Polygraph Waiver:** Former Marine Interdiction Agents rehired into this position may be eligible for a polygraph waiver.
- **Reasonable Accommodation:** Available for competency-based assessments upon request.
