Aircraft Flight Instructor

This excepted service position requires membership in the District of Columbia Army National Guard, including wearing a military uniform. Candidates must be eligible for immediate Guard membership if not currently serving.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Operate specific main-frame military aircraft.
• Perform comprehensive mission planning and preparation, including reviewing tasking, intelligence, and weather data.
• File flight plans and conduct detailed crew briefings.
• Execute aircraft preflight inspections, supervise aircraft loading, and assess equipment.
• Conduct or oversee in-flight operations such as navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue, or surveillance and reconnaissance.
• *Qualifications:**
• **General Experience:** A minimum of one year of experience demonstrating a competent understanding of basic occupational principles (or comparable military rank).
• **Specialized Experience:** At least two years of experience in operating main-frame military aircraft, encompassing mission planning, preparation, and complex in-flight operations.
• Applicants exceeding the maximum military grade must be willing to accept an administrative reduction in rank.

• Permanent Change of Station (PCS) is not authorized.
• A relocation incentive may be authorized.
• Acceptance of this position will terminate Federal Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) bonuses.
