About Army National Guard Units
The Army National Guard is a federal and state military force and a component of the United States Army. It is a unique dual-status organization, providing both federal service for national defense and state service for local emergencies and disaster relief. It is composed of part-time citizen soldiers.
Mission
The mission of the Army National Guard is to provide trained, equipped, and ready combat forces and support units to the Army and to provide trained and equipped units to the states for natural disaster relief and civil support operations.
