Job Description

Summary

Seeking a Senior Engineer to evaluate, integrate, and sustain advanced aircraft and mission systems for federal operations.

Join our team as a Senior Engineer, contributing to critical aircraft acquisition and sustainment programs. This role demands expertise in systems integration, design evaluation, and new technology implementation for aircraft and associated mission systems.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Evaluate and test design modifications for aircraft, sensors, mission systems, and ground systems.
  • Apply engineering and systems integration principles to aircraft acquisition and sustainment programs.
  • Conduct analysis, research, and provide technical support for integrating new technologies into fielded aircraft systems.
  • Coordinate the installation and operational deployment of sensors and mission systems in field locations.
  • Analyze field data to assess aircraft operational characteristics and flight suitability.
  • *Requirements:**
  • **Experience:** At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 federal grade level, demonstrating proficiency in the core responsibilities listed above.
  • **Education:**
* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a degree including advanced calculus and specific engineering science coursework. * **or** a combination of college-level education, training, and experience demonstrating a strong foundation in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences. This can be evidenced by: professional engineering registration/licensure (EI, EIT, PE), successful completion of the FE examination, at least 60 semester hours in relevant sciences, or a bachelor's in a related scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, computer science) combined with one year of supervised professional engineering experience.

  • *Additional Qualifications:**
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive federal background investigation (CBP-specific).
  • Meet U.S. residency requirements (physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for 3 of the last 5 years; exceptions apply).
  • For current federal employees, meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (typically 52 weeks at the next lower grade).
  • New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
