Summary

Provide essential administrative support, managing communications, schedules, and operations for a federal agency.

Join our team as an Administrative Professional, providing essential support to a federal agency. We are seeking candidates at both GS-09 and GS-11 levels.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • *GS-09 Level:**
  • Manage incoming communications, including screening telephone calls and visitors, directing as appropriate.
  • Draft and review correspondence, ensuring proper format, grammar, and accuracy for non-technical requests.
  • Explain non-technical policies and procedures; make recommendations on administrative priorities.
  • Administer time and attendance accounting, ensuring accuracy and providing training/monitoring to support staff.
  • Process purchase requests for supplies, materials, services, and equipment.
  • *GS-11 Level (Includes and expands upon GS-09 duties with greater complexity and oversight):**
  • Oversee and ensure timely, compliant completion of all support activities, including timekeeping, travel, conference planning, teleconferences, equipment maintenance, and mail processing.
  • Provide direction and guidance to other staff, organizing work for optimal efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Manage executive calendars, scheduling appointments and meetings based on priorities and commitments.
  • Prepare complex and sensitive documents, ensuring precise formatting, spelling, grammar, and compliance with federal guidelines (e.g., Congressional, DOJ, OMB).
  • Assist with the budgetary process, including consolidating requirements, preparing analyses, monitoring funds, and recommending actions to prevent deficiencies.
  • *Qualifications:**
Your eligibility will be based on your responses to the application questions.

  • *Option 1: Education**
  • **GS-09:** Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education; OR LL.B. or J.D. (if related).
  • **GS-11:** Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education; OR LL.M. (if related).
  • *Note: Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the work.*
  • *Option 2: Specialized Experience**
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level within the occupation in a similar organization. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the duties successfully.
* **GS-09:** Experience in administrative support such as managing communications, preparing initial correspondence, reviewing outgoing documents for format/grammar, handling time & attendance, and processing purchase requests. * **GS-11:** Experience in comprehensive administrative oversight, including managing complex support activities, guiding others, executive calendar management, preparing highly sensitive/formatted documents (e.g., Congressional/DOJ inquiries), and assisting with budget processes.

  • *Option 3: Combination**
  • A combination of qualifying education and specialized experience that collectively equips you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position.
  • *Note: Credit is given for paid and unpaid experience; actual time (hours per week) spent in activities must be shown.*
