Full Stack Developer with React/Node.js expertise and Active Top Secret clearance for federal government web development.

BAE Systems is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to play a critical role in developing, securing, operating, delivering, and maintaining a vital Federal Government Web Site.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • Manage the full development lifecycle for web applications, spanning frontend and backend, from concept to deployment and sustainment.
  • Design and implement responsive, visually appealing, and high-performance user interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain robust server-side logic, APIs, and ensure secure, efficient data processing.
  • Architect and manage databases, focusing on data integrity, performance, migrations, and backups.
  • Integrate RESTful APIs for seamless frontend-backend communication.
  • Automate deployment processes and manage cloud infrastructure using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement and audit security best practices including authentication, authorization, and data encryption.
  • Identify and resolve bugs, optimize performance, and ensure code quality through comprehensive testing (unit, integration, end-to-end).
  • Collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with project goals.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to continuously enhance development practices.
  • Ensure cross-platform compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and cross-browser functionality.
  • Utilize version control (Git) for code management and team collaboration.
  • *Required Skills & Experience:**
  • **Frontend:** 5+ years with React (JavaScript/TypeScript), HTML5, CSS3, including component design, state management, responsive UI, and WCAG 2.1/Section 508 accessibility.
  • **Backend:** 3-5 years with Node.js (or equivalent .NET/Java) expertise in building RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization, and secure data handling.
  • **Database:** Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (T-SQL, performance tuning, migrations, backups).
  • **Web Server & CDN:** Hands-on experience with IIS 7+ and Akamai CDN configuration.
  • **Cloud/Infrastructure:** Proven experience on Azure, including App Service, Azure Functions, ARM/Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • **Version Control & CI/CD:** Proficient with Git (CLI) and pipeline design using Azure DevOps (or GitLab CI).
  • **Security Fundamentals:** Strong understanding of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization, and data encryption.
  • **508 / Accessibility:** Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.1, with familiarity in accessibility testing tools (e.g., axe, WAVE).
  • **Automated Testing:** Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Selenium, or similar).
  • **Security Clearance:** Active Top Secret clearance is mandatory.
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash) for environment provisioning.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Splunk, New Relic).
  • Prior federal government web experience (e.g., FEMA, DHS).
  • Additional security certifications (SEC+, CISM, CEH).
  • Infrastructure as Code experience beyond ARM (Terraform, Bicep).
  • Familiarity with the US Web Design System (USWDS).
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and lead code review sessions.
