Summary

Seeking a TS SCI-cleared Web Designer specializing in 508-compliant front-end development for federal projects.

## Web Designer

OPTiMO, a consulting firm specializing in enterprise application development and digital design for public and private sectors, is seeking a skilled Web Designer.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop web content (HTML, CSS, JS, SharePoint) ensuring strict Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 A/AA compliance.
  • Conduct thorough accessibility validation using DHS Trusted Tester Methodology and tools (ANDI, Axe, Lighthouse, WAVE, NVDA/JAWS).
  • Implement accessibility enhancements including ARIA roles, semantic HTML, and keyboard navigation.
  • Perform iterative testing throughout release cycles to maintain compliance and document results (test plans, ACRs, VPAT 2.0).
  • Build front-end user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks and traditional MVC techniques.
  • Collaborate with project leaders and designers to champion modern technology adoption.
### Required Qualifications:
  • **Active TS SCI Security Clearance is mandatory.**
  • 4+ years of related web design and development industry experience.
  • On-site work required in the Washington D.C. Metro area.
  • Certified Internet Web Professional (CIW) or equivalent certification.
  • 1+ year of experience handling US classified documents.
  • Proficiency with XML, HTML, CSS, and basic web programming scripts.
  • Experience with Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft Word, and SharePoint Services.
  • Knowledge of SQL or MySQL for custom web reporting.
  • Understanding of W3C recommendations and federal accessibility (Section 508) standards.
  • Experience working for the federal government or adhering to agency visual standards.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
### Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Fluency in CSS3, HTML4/5, and advanced JavaScript.
  • DHS Trusted Tester Certification.
  • Experience with responsive design.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (timeboxing, sprints, code reviews).
  • Experience integrating UIs with content management systems.
  • Understanding of SEO/website analytics tools.
  • Prior consulting experience.
