Unified Communications Engineer

The Leidos Dig Mod Health IT division is seeking a skilled and collaborative Unified Communications Engineer to support a highly visible Technology (IT) services effort at Health Human & Human Services (HHS) in Rockville, MD.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Provide engineering support for Unified Communications and Collaborations (UCC) solutions, integrating VoIP, Unified Messaging, IM&P, and Web/Video Conferencing.
• Plan and execute refresh cycles for government-furnished UCC assets.
• Conduct UCC engineering planning, including research on emerging trends, recommending architecture improvements, and developing product roadmaps.
• Manage and deliver UCC migration projects, including project plans, design, development, testing, and implementation.
• Support deployment, management, communication, and reporting for UCC technology refresh.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive UCC training plans and instructional content (in-person and online).
• Provide Tier 3 support for UCC-related incidents and problems, including monitoring queues, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reporting.
• Ensure all UCC deliverables and documentation comply with HHS EPLC policies.
• *Required Qualifications:**
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (e.g., 6 years general experience).
• Ability to work onsite 1-2 days per week in Rockville, MD, or Washington, DC.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust level 4 clearance.
• Prior experience in UCC engineering planning, design, and implementation (including configuration, documentation, troubleshooting, and training).
• Experience with Cisco Network Infrastructure (routers, switches, QoS, SIP Trunks, Secure SIP).
• Proficiency with Cisco Unified Communication Call Manager, Session Manager, Unity Connection, Emergency Responder, Webex, Control Hub, Expressways, and Prime Collaboration Deployment.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone System, Direct Routing, and Microsoft Teams Rooms.
• Familiarity with VMware products (Esxi, vCenter, vSphere).
• Experience with Cisco Telepresence products.
• Working knowledge of service desk tiered systems.
• *Desired Qualifications:**
• CCNP Collaboration certification.
• Understanding of various communication platforms.
