Summary

Lead UI/UX design and Section 508 compliance, creating accessible user interfaces and managing related initiatives.

BAE Systems is seeking a **User Interaction / User Experience Designer (UI/UX)** to lead visual design efforts, ensuring general accessibility and **Section 508 compliance**. This role focuses on developing intuitive user interfaces, managing accessibility initiatives, and fostering key stakeholder relationships.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Design and prototype easy-to-navigate, visually appealing user interfaces (UIs) with consistent look-and-feel, incorporating user feedback and responsive design best practices.
  • Manage application release, outage, and change control processes to ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain critical project documentation, including style guides and resource plans.
  • Plan, recruit, and facilitate usability testing, analyzing results to recommend system improvements.
  • Support and lead up to 50 annual accessibility training sessions (e.g., Section 508 awareness, accessible document creation).
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to system owners for 100% ICT systems Section 508 compliance and SharePoint testing goals.
  • Address Information and Communication Technology (ICT) accessibility complaints and provide testing support.
  • Create and execute project and communication plans for overall technology governance.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with coding, testing, and debugging web applications across diverse platforms.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the DOJ and Intelligence Community.
  • *Note: Position may include blackout periods for PTO during annual core activities (e.g., FISMA Audit).*
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Trusted Tester certification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience (through certifications or past work) can be considered in lieu of specific years of experience.
  • *Pay Information:**
Full-Time Salary Range: $115,779 - $196,825
