Summary
Experienced attorneys needed for federal legal analysis and litigation, requiring J.D., bar membership, and 1.5+ years experience.
This position seeks an experienced legal professional to perform complex legal analysis, manage litigation, and draft court documents within a federal government context. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in legal practice and a commitment to public service.
- *Responsibilities:**
- Conduct independent legal analysis on intricate issues.
- Compose pleadings, briefs, and other court documents for civil or criminal litigation.
- Lead highly complex civil or criminal litigation cases.
- Provide leadership and guidance to paralegals and support staff.
- *Minimum Qualifications:**
- J.D. degree (or equivalent).
- Active member of the bar in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Minimum of 1.5 years of post-JD legal, trial, or directly relevant experience. (Experience requirements scale with grade level, up to 4+ years for senior roles).
- Demonstrated expertise in legal analysis, drafting court documents, and litigation management.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Exceptional writing, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong professional judgment.
- Previous trial work experience.
- Judicial clerkship experience is desirable.
- *Important Note:** This position requires a 2-year trial period to evaluate performance, conduct, and alignment with public interest objectives.
