Job Description
Summary
Seeking licensed attorneys with federal legal and litigation experience for various grade levels.
We are seeking licensed attorneys to contribute to federal legal work, focusing on litigation and courtroom practice.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Engage in federal court motions practice and general litigation.
- Manage individual clients, dispositive motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Work independently and collaboratively with clients, staff, supervisors, and Department officials.
- *Minimum Qualifications:**
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
- Active license to practice law in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Active member of the bar in good standing.
- *Experience Requirements (Post-JD):**
- **GS-13:** Minimum 1.5 years
- **GS-14:** Minimum 2.5 years
- **GS-15:** Minimum 4 years
- *Preferred Skills & Experience:**
- Outstanding writing and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent judgment and a strong interest in litigation.
- Demonstrated experience with federal court motions practice.
- Proficiency in client interaction, asserting personal defenses via dispositive motions, handling discovery, or trial preparation.
- Comfortable in diverse federal courtroom settings.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- *Important Note:** This position requires a mandatory 2-year trial period.
