Translator

This position seeks a highly skilled English/French Translator. You will provide accurate, comprehensive translation services for a wide variety of document types, including diplomatic, legal, technical, and financial materials, ensuring precision in grammar, spelling, consistency, and formatting. Responsibilities include thorough terminology research and expert use of Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Translate diverse documents (e.g., diplomatic, legal, technical, financial reports, presentations) from English to French and French to English.
• Review translations for accuracy, completeness, grammar, spelling, consistency, proper formatting, and appropriate terminology.
• Conduct in-depth research on terminology and subject matter using various resources and subject matter experts.
• Utilize Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools (e.g., SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, WordFast, Déjà Vu, OmegaT).
• *Requirements:**
• Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 federal service, demonstrating advanced English-French and French-English translation capabilities.
• Direct experience translating diverse materials between French and English is a mandatory selective factor.
• Proficiency in utilizing various CAT tools.
• No substitution of education for specialized experience is permitted for this GS-13 position.
