Summary
Seeking experienced Training & Instruction Specialists to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive adult education programs for a federal agency.
Join our team as a Training & Instruction Specialist, contributing to critical adult education programs within the federal service at the GS-11 or GS-12 level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs and lesson plans for diverse adult audiences.
- Conduct research, adapt instructional materials, and present content across various subject areas, including visual information and public affairs.
- Evaluate instructional impact and refine training methods to ensure effectiveness.
- Assist with program management, supporting faculty development in teaching, learning, research, and creative activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
For GS-11 Consideration:
- Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, assisting with adult training program development/management, creating/presenting lesson plans, and evaluating instructional impact.
- Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education (e.g., LL.M.) in a related field.
- Combination: An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
For GS-12 Consideration:
- Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, designing, developing, and delivering entry/intermediate training (e.g., visual information, public affairs), and selecting instructional materials/tests.
Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) - 1712 Series:
To qualify, you must meet one of the following:
- Education: Major study in education or a subject area directly related to the position.
- Specialized Experience (above GS-5): Demonstrated practical knowledge of the subject matter and instructional methods/techniques, including:

- All qualifying experience, including volunteer work (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps), will be credited.
- If using education to meet IOR, unofficial transcripts are required at the time of application.
