## Telecommunications Specialist

Join our team as a Telecommunications Specialist, contributing to the management and enhancement of critical communication systems supporting worldwide missions.

### Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate, evaluate, and determine requirements for highly complex and sophisticated analog, digital, and VoIP telecommunications systems.
• Perform database management duties, including work on Cable Assignment Information Retrieval System (CAIRS).
• Provision and support telephone switching systems.
• Support recommendations for establishing or improving telecommunications systems that meet global Department of Defense (DoD) and Agency network access requirements.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• *1

  Specialized Experience:**

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level (or similar in other sectors).
• This experience must include investigating system requirements, performing database management on communication systems, and supporting recommendations for analog, digital, or VoIP telecommunications systems.
• *2. Education:**
• A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or a closely related field.
• or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in one of the fields listed above.
• *Note: Official transcripts are required if qualifying based on education.*
• *3. Combination:**
• A combination of successfully completed post-high school graduate education and specialized experience, where the combined percentages equal at least 100% of the total qualification requirements.
