Job Description

Summary

Apply advanced data analysis, machine learning, and modeling to develop data-driven solutions and optimize operations.

We are seeking a skilled professional to apply advanced data analysis, machine learning, and modeling techniques to solve complex challenges. This role requires a strong foundation in computer engineering, computer science, or data science, demonstrated through academic achievement and practical experience.

  • *Key Responsibilities & Experience (GG-15 Level):**
  • Develop and deploy data-driven solutions using advanced data analysis techniques, including machine learning and predictive modeling.
  • Create models, algorithms, and data programs to identify trends, forecast outcomes, inform decision-making, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience demonstrating these competencies. Volunteer experience is credited.
  • *Educational Requirements (Meet one of the following criteria):**
  • *1. For Computer Engineer (GG-0854 Series):**
  • **A. Degree:** A professional engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, or a curriculum including differential/integral calculus and advanced courses in five of seven specified engineering science/physics areas.
  • **B

    Combination of Education & Experience:** College-level education, training, and/or technical experience demonstrating thorough knowledge of physical/mathematical sciences underlying engineering. This must be shown by:

* Current professional registration (Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE)). * Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination. * At least 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, including specified courses. * A bachelor's degree in a related scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, computer science) plus at least one year of professional engineering experience under supervision.

  • *2. For Computer Scientist (GG-1550 Series):**
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or
  • Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science (at least 15 semester hours in statistics and mathematics, including differential and integral calculus).
  • *3. For Data Scientist (GG-1560 Series):**
  • **A. Degree:** Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a field directly related to the position.

    Combination of Education & Experience:** Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as described in A, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
