Summary

Experienced Veterinary Pathologist sought for disease prevention, research, and pathology expertise; board eligibility/certification required.

We are seeking a highly qualified Veterinary Pathologist to contribute specialized expertise in disease prevention, research, and diagnostic pathology. This role requires a strong scientific background and professional certification.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Provide expert pathology analysis and consultation.
  • Contribute to and implement disease prevention strategies.
  • Conduct essential research in veterinary medicine.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service, specifically in veterinary pathology, disease prevention, and research.
  • Successful completion of a residency in anatomic pathology, resulting in board eligibility or previous specialty certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) or foreign equivalent.
  • *Education Requirements:**
  • **Option 1:** Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent (VMD) from an AVMA-accredited institution.
  • **Option 2 (For Foreign Veterinary Graduates):** Must meet ONE of the following and demonstrate English proficiency:
* Certification of final transcript by the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG). * Possession of a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice veterinary medicine in a U.S. State/Territory, including successful completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) or its predecessors (NBE/CCT). * Proof that foreign education is accepted at full value by an AVMA-accredited veterinary medical school for an advanced degree, postgraduate, or training program.
  • **English Proficiency (for foreign graduates without a U.S. license):** Successful completion of one of the nationally and internationally recognized examinations that incorporate assessments of reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Examples include:
* **TOEFL:** Minimum scores of 560 (paper), 220 (computer), or 83 (internet) with specific sub-scores for speaking (26+), listening (26+), and writing (17+). Paper/computer versions also require TSE (55) and TWE (5.5). * **IELTS (Academic):** Minimum overall band score of 7.0, with at least 7.0 in speaking, 6.5 in listening, and 6.0 in writing. * **CAEL:** Minimum overall band score of 70, with at least 60 in speaking, 60 in listening, and 50 in writing.
