Join our team as a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist, leading comprehensive supply chain and logistics operations. This role involves overseeing critical functions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment within a dynamic organizational environment.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Direct and supervise a diverse team, including subordinate supervisors, fostering professional development and high performance.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate various logistics operations, optimizing effectiveness and efficiency across the supply chain.
- Manage acquisition, purchasing, transportation, distribution, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Formulate and forecast budgets, monitoring expenditures to ensure cost-effective program support.
- Develop and implement integrated acquisition strategies, aligning technical and business objectives.
- Identify and resolve complex operational problems, utilizing sound reasoning for logical decision-making.
- Inspire, motivate, and guide staff, adapting leadership styles to diverse situations while upholding integrity.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to a senior-level (GS-13 or comparable) position, demonstrating expertise in supply chain leadership and logistics program management, including overseeing large groups with varied occupations.
- **Knowledge:** Proven expertise in acquisition management, purchasing, transportation, distribution, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- **Skills:** Strong abilities in administration, management, problem-solving, strategic planning, financial oversight, and human resource management.
- *Work Environment & Physical Demands:**
- Primarily sedentary, but requires participation in facility reviews (e.g., warehouse, supply areas, labs) that may involve standing, walking, and maneuvering around equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- May require wearing personal protective equipment and occasional travel.
