Summary
Oversee and provide advanced clinical social work services and supervision for the VA, requiring an MSW and advanced licensure.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisory Social Worker (GS-12) to lead and deliver advanced clinical social work services within a dynamic healthcare environment.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide expert clinical supervision, consultation, and guidance to social work staff.
- Organize and prioritize work, ensuring timely completion of tasks and services.
- Oversee the provision of comprehensive clinical social work services to patients and their families.
- Develop and implement staff training and professional development programs.
- Cultivate strong interpersonal relationships with employees, team leaders, and management.
- Demonstrate advanced practice skills in a specialized clinical area or in administrative functions.
- Conduct independent psychosocial assessments, identifying patient strengths, weaknesses, coping skills, and acuity.
- Assess and document identified behaviors or symptoms of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and intimate partner violence.
- Maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with VA policies.
- Act as an advocate with appropriate community service providers when in the patient's best interest.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Citizenship:** United States Citizenship.
- **Language:** Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- **Education:** Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited school.
- **Licensure:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, demonstrating advanced practice skills in a specialty area or administration, along with progressively more professional competency and judgment.
- *Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) for GS-12:**
- Ability to independently organize work, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of supervisory duties, including clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation, and quality improvement.
- Ability to ensure the effective provision of clinical social work services.
- Ability to provide comprehensive staff training and development.
- Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills when interacting with employees, team leaders, and managers.
