## Supervisory Social Worker, GS-12
- *Role Summary:**
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide advanced clinical social work services, applying specialized knowledge to diverse patient populations.
- Offer clinical supervision for social work licensure and certification.
- Independently organize work, set priorities, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Perform supervisory duties, including consultation, inter-departmental negotiation, and quality improvement.
- Ensure the delivery of effective clinical social work services to patients and their families.
- Develop and implement staff training and professional development programs.
- Advocate for patients with community service providers as needed.
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, identifying patient strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
- Maintain strict adherence to patient privacy and confidentiality protocols.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- *Education:**
- Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited school. A doctoral degree is not a substitute.
- *Licensure:**
- Current state licensure or certification at the **advanced practice level** for independent social work practice.
- Ability to provide supervision for licensure is mandatory.
- *Experience:**
- A minimum of one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, demonstrating advanced practice skills in a specialty area or administration.
- Experience should include: assessing behaviors related to abuse/neglect/IPV, applying clinical social work skills, patient advocacy, and independent psychosocial assessments.
- *Skills & Abilities:**
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex workloads and meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of supervisory duties, including clinical supervision and quality improvement.
- Proven ability to ensure high standards in clinical social work service delivery.
- Skill in designing and delivering staff training and development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective team and management interactions.
- *Work Environment & Physical Demands:**
- Primarily sedentary office work, with typical office environment risks.
- Occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions and potential exposure to moderate risks in storage/waste sites.
- Requires active listening, reading, observing, evaluating behavior, speaking, writing clinical notes, and using standard office equipment.
- Some physical effort may be required, such as walking, standing, climbing, carrying light items, or driving.
- *Important Notes:**
- United States Citizenship is generally required.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
