Job Description

Guide the development and integration of advanced atomic clocks for precise timekeeping, utilizing PTTI and specialized clock technology.
We are seeking a highly experienced Physical Scientist to lead and contribute to advanced timekeeping technologies. You will apply expertise in Precise Time and Time Interval (PTTI) concepts and sophisticated clock technology to support the USNO master clock. Key Responsibilities: * Apply expertise in Precise Time and Time Interval (PTTI) concepts. * Utilize in-depth knowledge of clock technology, including microwave, optical, and emerging atomic clocks. * Guide the development, assessment, and integration of new advanced atomic clocks for the USNO master clock. * Oversee test and evaluation processes to verify system performance and operation. * Review specifications and requirements for specialized equipment procurement and development. * Act as a technical liaison and advisor with contractors and other agencies. Requirements: * Minimum one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent, demonstrating the above skills.
