We are seeking a highly experienced leader to manage complex operations and scientific programs within a research organization. This role requires exceptional strategic planning, analytical reasoning, and stakeholder engagement skills in challenging environments.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee complex operations and logistics, particularly in remote or high-risk settings.
- Lead and manage major scientific programs, facilities, and initiatives.
- Develop policies, manage budgets, and engage stakeholders for scientific research missions.
- Provide strategic recommendations by assessing complex challenges and prioritizing solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with senior leaders across government, academia, and international organizations.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- Proven experience managing complex operations and logistics in austere or high-risk environments.
- Demonstrated leadership in research organizations, overseeing scientific programs.
- In-depth understanding of program resources, emerging scientific trends, and supporting infrastructure.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Extensive experience in policy development, budgeting, planning, and stakeholder engagement for scientific research.
- Highly skilled in analytical reasoning and strategic problem-solving.
- Academic background in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering; Facilities Operations and Management; or a closely related field.
- Professional experience aligned with the mission of the Office of Polar Programs or directly relevant to the position's responsibilities.
