- *Key Responsibilities & Expectations:**
- Lead and manage law enforcement operations, demonstrating clear thinking and effective action during emergencies.
- Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for comprehensive security and emergency management.
- Plan and execute security for major, high-profile federal, state, and local events.
- Maintain a professional image, decorum, and appearance at all times.
- Safely perform all essential functions of the position, ensuring no risk to self or others.
- *Mandatory Conditions of Employment:**
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Successful completion of a Special Background Investigation (SBI).
- Complete the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP), or qualify for a waiver with Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) course completion.
- Designated as a Mission Essential Employee, requiring readiness during adverse weather, disasters, or other emergency situations.
- Sign a Civilian Mobility Program agreement, acknowledging potential relocation between PFPA duty locations (National Capital Region, Raven Rock Mountain Complex, and others).
- Pass annual PFPA medical and physical fitness examinations.
- Carry and qualify with PFPA-issued firearms at least twice yearly.
- Wear personal protective equipment (e.g., ballistic vest).
- Successfully complete all designated PFPA certification programs, including active shooter training.
- May be required to sign a Continuing Service Agreement (CSA) upon FLETC completion.
- This position is authorized for the Domicile-to-Duty Transportation Program.
- *Required Qualifications (AD-15 Level):**
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the AD-14 grade level in Federal service (or private sector) demonstrating:
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, or local emergency management planning, including continuity of government and operations at a command level.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans, acting effectively in emergency situations.
- Leadership and management experience within a law enforcement agency in a politically sensitive environment.
- Experience in security event planning for major, high-profile security events at federal, state, and/or local levels.
